Had a chance to work with Thomas Kelly recently. He’s currently playing in The Neo-Futurists production of Pinocchio/Frankenstein— among other things. …he’s a clown. …and he’s hysterical.

I wanted to show him as himself first– then going into clown costume– and then show him removing the makeup.  To me, one of the most compelling things about performance– and performers– is the process of going from life to stage– and back again.

It was awesome to work with Thomas.  The lucky break we got was finding two footballs in the yard when we went out for the chiaroscuro shots.  I love the fact that one ball is a Nerf and the other is a Wilson; an unintentional and lovely opposite.
